Monday, June 27, 2022 –Raila Odinga had to hold his rally inside an administration police camp in Dadaab Garissa County on Monday June 27.
Homenews.co.ke reporters from the ground, confirmed that Mr. Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua had to hold the rally in the camp as part of the State security measures to keep candidate secured. Also present was Kalonzo Musyoka who is accompanying the duo.
Their supporters who had arrived in droves had to be controlled from accessing the camp before the trio made their way inside.
This was taking place as police officers and other security apparatus tightened security through patrols leaving nothing to chance.
Dadaab area is notorious with terror attacks and is described as one of the most volatile places in the country with higher rate of terrorism.
For instance, in December 2019, a General Service Unit GSU vehicle full of officers was detonated by an IED device killing a total of eleven officers on the spot.
