Tuesday, May 3, 2022 –Raila Odinga will beat William Ruto should elections be held today. A pollster has released new findings.
Firstly, in the poll conducted by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA) in Nairobi County alone, Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance beat Kenya Kwanza by a landslide. Raila’s Azimio emerged with 41 percent of support around the city.
Second was Deputy President William Ruto who garnered 26 percent while 32 percent of city dwellers are still undecided on where they should cast their votes.
Down in the counties, Raila remained reigning supreme with a majority compared to his Kenya Kwanza counterpart William Ruto.
ODM Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna also beat his competitors by garnering 19 percent compared to Bishop Margret Wanjiru who only garnered a 6 percent support.
For Woman Representative position, ODM’s Esther Passaris will still beat opponents as she got 27.8 percent support followed by UDA’s Millicent Omanga who only got 6.2 percent.
For governor seat, Kenya Kwanza candidate Senator Johnson Sakaja took a lead with 23 percent followed by Azimio’s Polycarp Igathe who got 15 percent.
On who is popular in the counties, 42 percent of the respondents supported the Azimio camp as the most popular coalition in Nairobi, followed by Kenya Kwanza’s 22 percent.
Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party was the most popular political party countrywide with 26 percent support while Rutos’ UDA got 22 percent; Jubilee followed this with only 5 percent popularity.
In Mombasa and Makueni counties, Raila Odinga was the most preferred presidential candidate followed by DP Ruto.
Further ODM Party gubernatorial candidate Abdulswamad Nassir would win election today with 40 percent support followed by Wiper’s Mike Sonko who got 28 percent as UDA’s Hassan Omar came distant third.
