Monday, July 29, 2024 ––Opposition leader Raila Odinga has revealed that President William Ruto wanted to have professionals in his government and that is why ODM key figures were recently nominated to various Cabinet positions.

Speaking today, Odinga noted that he allowed ODM Party members to join President William Ruto’s government on one condition, that Ruto gets their professional services and, in return, he must respect the Constitution.

“I told Ruto that If he wants to get some of our experts to get into your government we release them but work in accordance to our position of the party and coalition Azimio,” noted Raila.

Raila also raised the Gen Zs issue saying, whatever they are agitating for, is not new in the country because the opposition has been on the streets pushing for the same only that governments have been sluggish in implementation.

“Issues being raised by Gen Zs are not new. These are issues we raised in our past recent protests,” commented Mr. Odinga.

The ODM Party leader listed high unemployment rate, tribalism, corruption, ethnicity and discrimination as well as management of debt as some of the key concerns this governmnet has to address.

The Azimio boss reiterated the need to revisit the Bomas of Kenya progressive Constitution which has since been mutilated.

He said the Bomas draft Constitution should be brought back to the table, cleaned so that the country can proceed on a clean slate
