Tuesday, August 16, 2022 –Raila Odinga has announced going to the Supreme Court to seek justice over the just announced presidential results.
Addressing supporters at the Kenyatta International Convention Center KICC today Tuesday August 16, Mr. Odinga suggested to the supporters to reject any figure as announced by Chairman Wafula Chebukati at the Bomas of Kenya yesterday Monday August 15.
“We are pursuing moral and legal avenues to invalidate Chebukati’s pronouncements and we are certain that justice will finally prevail,” he stated.
Odinga took the opportunity to thank the three commissioners who backed down on Chebukati’s decision to announce Ruto as the valid presidential winner of the August race.
Raila also assured his supporters that, through legal channels, his team will finally get the required justice very soon.
He took issue with Mr. Chebukati for almost plunging the nation in a state of anarchy through his announcement at the Bomas.
The Azimio la Umoja leader was saying this as the four IEBC splinter commissioners led by Vice Chair Juliana Cherera issued a second comprehensive statement on Chebukati’s presidential announcement.
The four said Chebukati had announced absurd figures at the Bomas and they cannot be part of the validation of the result.
