Friday, July 1, 2022 –Cabinet Secretary for Interior Dr. Fred Matiang’i has been reserved a slot in Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya government.
Speaking in Nyamira County today July 1, Azimio leader Raila Odinga told residents of Nyamira that he will still consider Matiang’i in his government.
“Hapa Nyamira kuna kijana wenu Fred Matiang’i. Huyu Matiang’i wale jamaa wanamchukia sana. Kila mara wanaongea juu yake ati huyu jamaa ataona. Wale wakiingia kwa serikali watapeleka Matiang’i ndani. Nawahakikishia kuwa Matiang’i ako na baba salama,” Raila told a charged crowd at Ekerenyo grounds in Nyamira.
He added that he will not just sit down and watch Kenya Kwanza politicians attack Matiang’i every day because of their hatred to all State officers leaning towards Azimio la Umoja.
“Kama kuna jamaa anajaribu kuja kupiga kijana wangu, kwanza apige mimi kwanza. Matiang’i tutakaa naye ata baada ya tarehe tisa mwezi wa nane,” Raila announced.
Nyamira is the home county of Matiang’i and where Azimio la Umoja coalition pitched camp since yesterday.
