Tuesday, May 10, 2022 –New opinion poll released by Mizani Africa now puts Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto neck-to-neck in terms of popularity.
From the findings which the pollster made official on Tuesday May 10, Dr. Ruto is the most popular presidential candidate commanding the highest rating with 47.0% while Raila Odinga comes second with 46.9%.
What, therefore, this means is that the difference of 0.1 percent is too insignificant making the race a neck-to-neck 3 months to elections.
The pollster also established that in Mt. Kenya Region Ruto is still taking a lead with 76.3 percent while his close rival Odinga is struggling with only 18.7 percent. In Nairobi County, Odinga flipped the results taking the lead with 51.6 percent against Ruto with 38.1 percent only.
In Western Region, Odinga is leading with 56.3 percent while DP William Ruto is at 37.7 percent; in Rift Valley the DP is at 64.4 percent while, on the other hand, Odinga is at 29.7 percent.
According to the data released a few hours ago, William Ruto commands a serious lead in two regions – Mt. Kenya (76.3%) and Rift Valley (64.4%) as Raila Odinga commands a lead in six regions – Nyanza(76.3%), Lower Eastern (75.1%), North Eastern (57.2%), Western (56.3%), Coast (56.2%) and Nairobi (51.6%)
However, Dr. Ruto so far remains the most popular presidential candidate commanding the highest rating with 47.0% while Raila Odinga comes closely second with 46.9%.
The Survey was conducted between April 18 and 29, 2022 through telephonic interviews among respondents distributed proportionate to the population size across all the 47 counties in Kenya.
