Friday, May 26, 2021-Opposition leader Raila Odinga has asked President William Ruto to corrent his deputy Rigathi Gachagua or be held squarely responsible for public utterances made by his principal assistant.
Speaking in Yatta today Friday May 26, during a fully-packed thank giving event, a charged up Odinga challengesd President Ruto to call out his deputy within the next seven days or Kenya gets divided.
“Gachagua has said not once that government is a shareholding enterprise. He says this repeatedly in the presence of William Ruto.
“And true, we keep seeing all key public appointments given to only two tribes. We have no problem but Kenya has 47 tribes which have to be recognised,” Odinga said.
An animated Odinga who was addressing hundreds of Azimio supporters from Ukambani Region went on to revisit the August 9 general elections saying, every detail must be looked into and corrected now or never.
“There is no doubt that Azimio won. We’ll make rigging so expensive that no one will ever consider it again. Look at what electoral theft has done to our economy. Runaway taxation leads to a very high cost of living. Unless and until this issue is settled, there will be no peace,” the opposition honcho said.
Among those present include Narc-Kenya’s Martha Karua, Roots Party leader Prof George Luchiri Wajackoyah, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka and many more.
This was going on as Ruto and Gachagua were presiding over government function in Embu County shortly after the head of State had filed his annual tax return at the Kenya Revenue Authority KRA headquarters, Nairobi.
