Monday, October 14, 2024 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM party leader Raila Odinga sobbed tears while narrating his past experience in national politics.
Speaking during ODM Party NEC meeting held in Mombasa yesterday Sunday October 14, Mr. Odinga narrated the ordeal he has endured with friends while trying to fight for the country.
In the middle of his speech while remembering those who were charged and hanged leaving him alone in prison, Odinga started to sob and had to halt his speech for about 45 seconds before coming back again.
“We have others who have died; many of my friends who died in this struggle. They used to come from Court and tell me they have already been handed an execution judgment and bid me bye bye,” Odinga painfully recounted his long life in Kenyan politics.
He stated that, together with friends who have since left, they were ready to die for the country so that coming generations can enjoy.
“There was no problem as long as we die for the country. So when you see us angry, know that we have all the reasons to feel this,” he added saying just remembering a friend who you were with now being executed after a wrong judgement is a painful experience.
Odinga told Kenyan journalists to do their work with a lot of professionalism and learn some history of this nation so that to pass the correct message to the society.
On the same breadth, the AUC candidate condemned the continued oppressing of the Kenyan citizens by security agencies. He said the ongoing killing and abductions by State agencies are against the dictates of the Constitution and must be stopped.
Raila Odinga is Kenyan politician who started Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party that has been in the opposition for many years.
ODM Party was formed by KANU members among them President William Ruto.
