Thutsday, December 28, 2023 -Opposition leader Raila Odinga has, for the first tine, explained why he is quiet.
Addressing the matter on Wednesday December 27 on Citizen Tv, Mr. Odinga said, though, he is being pressured to speak on the plight of Kenyans, its not yet the correct time.
“People are asking me to ask people to come out on the streets. Those who were saying demonstrations were destroying their businesses and now they are asking me to ask people to come out.
“Other people are saying no, don’t ask them to come out, Baba keep quiet. We talk when it’s necessary and times are going to come, right now we are following a different path,” he stated.
Mr Odinga noted, further that, Kenyans are for themselves to blameon their political decissions.
“2027 is still 4 years away. I have told Kenyans that you cannot be campaigning for 5 years that once elections are done we forget about them,” he said.
The Azimio la Umoja boss said it will be useless for anybody to try to run in 2027 unless current election challanges are sorted today.
He asked for a proper electoral commission which can preside over elections and give Kenyans real and clear results.
“As you know, the results of last presidential elections have not been published according to the law up to now,” he added.
Raila was speaking this on Citizen Tv news on Wednesday.
