Wednesday, September 8, 2021 -Orange Democratic Movement Party boss Raila Odinga turned up in lecture hall at Nairobi University and completely turned tables against Deputy President’s wheelbarrows notion.

Terming Ruto,’s hustler gospel as not only retrogressive, Odinga added that the Hustler Narrative as preached by Tangatanga wanted to hold youths hostage of the rich and urged them to avoid such a leader like plague.

In the lecture at UoN yesterday Tuesday September 7, Odinga in a blow by blow account explained how he is ready to face the reality affecting the many youths who are learned some not. He argued that it was not acceptable to take youths back to poverty when they were promised digital life by the failed Jubilee government which Ruto is part of.

“People who were promised digital jobs, who were promised knowledge-based economy, who were promised double-digit economic growth, are now being offered wheelbarrows and being told Kazi ni Kazi,” stated Raila in a direct attack on Ruto’s campaign approach.

He accused the DP of using the old-age-told stories to plan for the modern youths saying such means are outdated and cannot hold in this era where everybody is civilized.

“In an era when nations are sending their sons and daughters to planet Mars, I refuse to tell the children of Kenya that the tools our great, great ancestors used in the pre-historic age represent some kind of revolution that can take them places,” Raila added.

Odinga then refused to board the Hustler narrative and instead said he is coming up with a viable blueprint for the young men, women and the less fortunate in the society. He also promised to vacate office through resignation if he will not help improve lives of the poor in the country.

“I want to prepare Kenyan youths for jobs of the future, not jobs of yesterday.

“I want to focus the youth of Kenya on where the world is going, not where the world is coming from,” Raila remarked.

Ruto’s bottom up approach has been badly received by a section of politicians allied to Uhuru/Raila camp saying the approach by Ruto was a recipe for class war and unnecessary unrest.
