Tuesday, October 12, 2021 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has promised the youth bracket some slots in his government if he wins elections.
Speaking today Tuesday October 12 while meeting Mt. Kenya Youth at the University of Nairobi, Mr. Odinga promised four slots and several other positions to the youth below 35 years old.
He also stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requires a youth as its leader because they form a majority of Kenyans living and working abroad.
“In the Cabinet, at least any four cabinets, I can say it will be more than four,” he stated.

Odinga mentioned further that youth will win several ambassadorial slots in his efforts to adhere to the two-thirds gender rule exclusivity.
The African Union AU Special Envoy added that there is no much he doesn’t know about the youth of this country and that once he takes power, unlike it is today, they will have an opportunity to prove him right or wrong on promises he is making today.
“Jane should have told you here that when I was Prime Minister, I had a round table with the business community, and I also had a round table with the youth,” Odinga recounted.
The round table discussion, according to the former PM were held quarterly and were meant to engage the youth and get more feedback from them.
Jubilee government, in its efforts to get support from the youth, made several promises which they failed to deliver. Ruto and Uhuru rode on the youth agenda and promised to turn around the economy to a fully digital economy.
Sadly, the duo never delivered much as their government continues to be characterized by dis-quietness between Tangatanga and Kieleweke groupings.
It will therefore be interesting to see how Mr. Odinga will manage to persuade this bracket to support his course for the 2022 top seat even as Ruto continues to fight for Hustler space in the next dispensation.
