Thursday, September 15, 2022 –Raila Amolo Odinga today has hinted at staging demonstrations in protest of the recent Supreme Court judgment that apparently left a half of the country dissatisfied.
In their Thursday September 15 statement, Mr. Odinga argued that citizens have their democratic right to reject substandard rulings from the courts.
He also noted that the recent ruling on his presidential petition lacked substance and could still be rejected by the people.
“We can lead a one million people march to the Judiciary and tell them to go home. We have a right as a people to not agree with bad rulings,” an infuriated Odinga threatened.
On her part, Narc-Kenya Party leader who was his running mate, Martha Karua, while speaking in Mombasa today during the swearing in of new Mombasa Governor, Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, said the recently sworn in administration had stolen their win and cannot, therefore, be recognized by Kenyans who still feel disenfranchised.
“We have a fraudulently elected government in place. The current government was given this country by a few persons in court. We still have unanswered questions that only the East African Court of Justice EACJ will adjudicate and deliver their findings,” she stated.
Karua affirmed that only the EACC court based in Arusha Tanzania will decide whether the Supreme Court ruling was fair or not.
