Tuesday, July 11, 2023 –Opposition leader Raila Odinga has asked those in government who are not feeling happy with the current leadership to join him in the protests, tomorrow.
Addressing from Nairobi on Tuesday July 11, the opposition leader mentioned that there are a number of his supporters in government who are supporting his resolve to put to check this government through demonstrations.
“I am taking this opportunity to welcome everyone supporting each one of us in Azimio. I am also welcoming those in government who are uncomfortable with this leadership to join us on Wednesday during our countrywide protests,” he announced.
Odinga used the platform to also launch their official signature collection website meant to help them gather over 10 million of signs so that to aid in the removal of this government from office.
The said website was given the name Tumechoka.co.ke which asks every Kenyan suffering under Ruto’s regime to sign up in readiness to impeach the head of State together with his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.
“We are aware that Kenya Kwanza don’t understand the power of the people upto now. They have wondered where we are going to take the signatures and the legality of the exercise. We will not be expecting them to understand this as of now, but with time, they will understand this,” Raila stated in their presser today.
On his part, ousted Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni accused President William Ruto of orchestrating a coup’ in Jubilee Party.
The former Ndaragwa MP who said he will move to the High Court to appeal the Tribunal decision that upheld his removal from office, added that the ruling against him and Mr. Murathe was completely faulty.
Also present in the press briefing was Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka as well as Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua.
