Friday, May 6, 2022 –Azimio-One Kenya Alliance flagbearer Mr. Raila Odinga has concluded his 3-day long Mt. Kenya political tour with a promise to facilitate campaigns in the region.
He assured all candidates who went past party nominations that they will not be using their own cash to do campaigns since Azimio had put in place enough resources and plans to ensure there is campaign material for everyone.
“You have been crying that you have nothing to facilitate you. An election is like a war which needs weapons. I want to assure you that you will get something (resources) to arm yourself with,” the ODM leader said.
The opposition honcho used the chance to advise his troops that they need to gather firm confidence to be able to bring victory to Azimio.
“But if you go to the fight, don’t go with fear as you will be felled. You need to go into the race knowing that there are many people backing this movement,” he added.
Mr. Odinga assured the Mt. Kenya Region residents that they will enjoy his leadership once he ascends to power from August 9 and that this one should be the message to carry to the people.
And while confessing that there has been a perception about him in the region, this he said can be changed in the remaining days before the general elections.
He showed optimism that beating his main competitor DP William Ruto by a large margin was his main plan on August 9.
“I want you to carry the reforms message. We will bring all communities together. Let us stop tribal politics in the country,” he said, urging the aspirants to trust that he always has Uhuru’s message for them.
He was meeting leaders from Nyandarua area before he headed for a similar forum in Nakuru and Naivasha where he also made several roadside stopovers.
