Tuesday January 12, 2021 -Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has taken his Building Bridges Initiative role very serious.
Just a day after meeting university youths in Nairobi and followed by his meeting with reformed Mungiki youths led by Mr. Maina Njenga, Odinga today Tuesday January 12, met with Royal Media Services RMS owner Samuel Kamau Macharia or SK Macharia.
The two met with a single aim of popularizing the Building Bridges Initiative BBI in a meeting that saw musicians led by Roy Smith Mwatia aka Rufftone also attend.
On his part, SK Macharia lauded Mr. Odinga for agreeing to shake hands with Mr Kenyatta for the sake of peace of the country.
“When this country was divided into two after the 2017 General Elections, handshake came in handy because what would have followed was a civil war, which would have killed our children.
“These two men, if they give nothing else to us we are thankful for them for the handshake and putting this country together,” explained Macharia.
While addressing the musicians, Mr. Odinga urged all the artists in the country to make sure they supported the BBI which has their interests at heart.
He said through music, the BBI project will be an easy thing to sell and that any negative lyrics may make things much difficult.
“We must change the narrative, and we must not allow charlatans to come up with slogans to confuse the people of this country,” Mr. Odinga noted.
He took the chance to urge the youths to ignore those preaching the Hustler Gospel which he said was being used to lure them into voting a ‘dictator’ into power.
