Friday, September 2, 2022 –Petitioner’s lawyer Willis Otieno has indicted Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC for misleading voters through thousands of extra ballot papers.
According to Mr. Otieno who was presenting an official court registrar report before the seven-judge bench today Friday September 2 following scrutiny, said Chebukati deliberately printed Book 2 of Forms 34A so that to help in the rigging exercise which they had planned in advance.
“This has eventually confirmed my fear that Book 34A of Book 2 was utilised to the tune of 50 percent country wide according to the available samples,” he stated.
He added that it was nolonger a secret that Chebukati aided in the manipulation of election of Tuesday August 9; what led to the overall mess in now in contestation.
He also argued that the IEBC team, this time around, changed tactic by printing original extra books so that to make it hard to notice the fraud because all ballot papers were original.
He recounted how the Supreme Court sitting of 2017 exposed that then Chebukati used fake forms to rig elections.
Willis passionately indicted IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati for handing legitimacy to a wrong regime.
He pleaded with the court to admit the registrar’s report acquired from the electoral agency IEBC at the Anniversary Towers.
On IEBC behalf, their representatives, Advocate Emmanuel Wetang’ula and Njomo Kamau, told the court that they had fully complied with all the court orders and that the election was free and fair.
