Friday, January 21, 2022 –Jaoko Oburu has also thrown his hat into the ring for Lang’ata Parliamentary seat which seems to be attracting many candidates allied to ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.
Jaoko, a son to Oburu Odinga, took to his Facebook account with an announcement that he will be vying for the Lang’ata seat this year. He will be battling it out with others like comedian Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o and Lawyer Silas Jakakimba.
Raila’s nephew Jaoko, who is the current County Executive Committee Member for Roads and Public Works in Siaya County Government, has therefore pleaded with Lang’ata residents to register in large numbers to make his political journey a success.
“Kura yako ni sauti yako (your vote is your voice),” he posted as he shared a poster showing his political interest.
Jaoko is the son of former Siaya Senator and current East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Oburu Odinga who is the elder brother to Raila Odinga.
He is expected to battle it out with comedian and media personality Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, City-based lawyer and Raila Odinga’s aide Silas Jakakimba among many others who are yet to make their intentions clearer.
Currently, Lang’ata Constituency is under MP Nixon Korir; and ally of Deputy President William Ruto.
