Sunday, February 6, 2022 –Mr. Peter Kenneth is being touted as the most preferred running mate for Raila Amollo Odinga in the forthcoming August 9 polls. Details have emerged.
Mt Kenya power brokers and tycoons have already settled on the former Gatanga Constituency lawmaker to deputize Odinga.
A powerful source from Statehouse has leaked sensitive information that President Uhuru Kenyatta had made up his mind on Peter Kenneth and it is just a matter of time before this is made public.
And sharing some more information on the developments, sitting Gatanga MP Nduati Ngugi who attended the recent Mt. Kenya meeting that comprised Central Kenya heavyweights claimed Uhuru was already preparing Mr. Kenneth to join Raila Odinga full-time.
This will first see Kenneth installed as Jubilee Party presidential candidate who will then play the running mate role in Azimio la Umoja.
“Yesterday (Friday) we spoke with the President and we agreed for him to talk to members of ODM, OKA and former Jubilee politicians who left in order to work together as one,” MP Nduati Ngugi disclosed.
In their recent Mt Kenya meeting, its reported that over 51 elders from the region had also unanimously endorsed Peter Kenneth; a move that was informed by his track record, acceptance across board and popularity.
Kenneth, while delivering a powerful acceptance speech, said he was more than ready to serve in that capacity for the sake of every Kenyan.
“We have supported the handshake of Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta and that’s the initiative we will be supporting as we head to the 2022 General Election,” he noted.
Raila, on his part, has remained tight-lipped on who could be his running mate in the Azimio la umoja. It is reported that he allowed President Uhuru Kenyatta to choose for him a person from the vote rich Mt. Kenya Region for the purposes of traction.
