Monday, April 17, 2023 –Kenyans have continued expressing their views after government today Monday April 17 announced a reduction in unga prices across the country.

Through Statehouse Spokesperson, Hussein Mohamed, the State announced that prices for maize flour had reduced, significantly.

In the statement, Mr. Mohamed reported that Kenyans can now start enjoying their favourite meal at a reduced cost.

He added that this is in line with Kenya Kwanza government,s promise to reduce the cost of living in two weeks’ time.

“Unga prices have started going down just as President William Ruto had assured Kenyans over the weekend,” Hussein Mohamed announced.

He clarified that the new prices will not be uniform and that it could retail between sh 159 and sh 160 for a 2-kilogram packet.

But in a quick rejoinder, Mwalimu Abduba Dida appeared to sharply differ with the announcement saying no Kenyan had spotted the new prices anywhere and that this is part of the PR stunts by KK government.

“Unga now retailing at Ksh 159, on Itumbi’s, Cherargei’s and other UDA sycophants timelines. For the rest of Kenyans and retailers, the reality of ksh 215 is still alive. UDA is like Owuor’s church. The leader could say that he killed Goliath and his minions would believe him,” Dida noted.

His sentiment was corroborated by Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly MCA Robert Alai who observed that the new price unga could only be available at the Statehouse.

He also added that Hussein was advertising the product in readiness to make a killing from helpless citizens.

“Are you guys advertising Umi Maize flour or what is this? Seems like this is strategic advertisement by Statehouse,” Alai claimed.

Other sections wondered with the brand name which Hussein had shared saying Ummi, in particular, is not what they are used to consuming in their homes.

Some even claimed that the photos widely shared by CAS Dennis Itumbi and Hussein were works of 2016 and not current.

“So millers reduced the price of Unga overnight? William Ruto dwells on propaganda and it is high time he matures up. You you ascend to power through lies, you CAN’T sustain anything coz reality is harsh. Itumbi is now posting photos taken in 2016,” Journalist Abuga Makori commented.

Azimio wing has already asked President Ruto to reduce the cost of Unga to sh 100 for them to call off their anti-government demos.
