Registrar of Parties Okays Removal of Murathe, Kioni From Office

Tuesday, February 14, 2023 –Registrar of Political parties has admitted letter from Jubilee Members seeking to remove embattled Jeremiah Kioni alongside David Murathe from top leadership.

The registrar made this ratification on Monday February 13 when she acknowledged receiving final resolutions from the National Executive Council NEC Jubilee Party seeking their ouster over gross misconduct.

“This Office acknowledges receipt of your letter dated 10th February 2023 and received on February 13, 2023, on the Jubilee Party (JP) National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held on February 10, 2023,” the registrar ratified.

These resolutions were reached at during the recent Saturday February 12 meeting which was held in Nakuru Town.

The meeting saw NEC decide to suspend Kioni from Secretary General office and replaced him with East African Legislative Assembly EALA Member of Parliament, Kanini Kega.

On the same note, David Murathe was also voted out unanimously and quickly replaced by Eldas Constituency MP Adan Keynan who is now the Vice Chairman.

“You submitted the following documents: a notice of NEC meeting dated 2nd February 2023; minutes of the NEC meeting; resolutions of the NEC meeting; and a list of NEC members present at the meeting,” part of Office of the Registrar of political parties ORPP statement read.

In the statement, ORPP noted that their replacements were done in accordance with the law as the meeting which saw their removal was properly conducted.

This is happening even as Mr. Kioni lodged counter attempts to punish some members he referred to as ‘errant’.
