Tuesday, May 4, 2021 -Jubilee Party is reportedly having a difficult time to officially divorce with DP Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance Party UDA.
Reports reaching Homenews.co.ke desk on Tuesday may 4 morning have confirmed that the meeting held by Jubilee Party’s National Management NMC to find a way to officially part ways with UDA ended in jeopardy.
In their Monday May 3 meeting held in Nairobi, members failed to come to an agreement on which way was best to delink Ruto from Jubilee. Sources said the most legally viable means could not be reached at.
Secretary General Raphael Tuju, on his part, said they feared legal hurdles if they got it wrong and therefore need to hold another meeting to find which way would work without losing litigation.
“Yes, we met as NMC members but I am not in a position to deliberate on what we discussed.
“We are still having another meeting on Tuesday, May 4, and then we shall give a brief,” Tuju told Nation Daily.
Jubilee has therefore been left with an option to engage their legal minds who will help draw a plan on how to challenge Ruto should he take that matter to court for redress.
On their part, UDA politicians cautioned that any attempts to delink their party from Jubilee will be fought back with equal and brutal force.
“Let them not try to imagine that we are fools when we are investing in UDA. We will even be better off as UDA without any Jubilee association,” Ruto’s allies warned.
This was followed by Ruto’s statement on live Tv in which he said they came up with UDA as a fall back plan should things continue falling a part in their parent party.
While announcing plans to severe ways with UDA, Tuju described their relationship with Tangatanga members as untenable.
