Friday, September 23, 2022 -Ms Kanze Dena reportedly declined another top job offer from President Uhuru Kenyatta and, instead, chose to take millions of money and quit.
In an insider story of Friday September 23, it was unearthed that Dena who was offered a plum ambassadorial position in April 2022, told Uhuru that she would rather prefer to remain in Kenya.
The eloquent Swahili ex-Citizen Tv news anchor who has been at the helm of the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit rejected the offer saying she still has a lot to accomplish around.
This rare gesture shocked Kenyatta as well as some State officials; what forced the president to pass the offer to another person.
“Kanze was loyal to the President, dedicated to her work and she was to be appointed an ambassador when Uhuru appointed envoys,” the source disclosed.
The president, however, decided to respect Kanze’s decision before surprising her with gifts both in kind and cash running into millions.
“He surprised her with cash worth millions,” the anonymous insider stated but refused to give an exact figure.
Reached for a comment on the same, Ms Dena only responded to media with a “Thank you …no Comment” remark.
“Thank you… Asante no comment,” she answered.
These April appointments saw others like Dennis Waweru bag a position as Kenya’s Consul General at the Kenyan Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo while Tomas Kwaka Omolo or Big Ted became Consul General to Los Angeles.
Furthermore, Bitange Ndemo and Caroline Wanjiku became Kenya’s Ambassadors to Belgium, and Denmark in that order.
In the list were also Ambassador Diana Kiambuthi (Rwanda), Ambassador Michael Oyugi (Spain), Maj Gen (Rtd) Thomas Chepkuto (Somalia), Ambassador Isaac Njenga (Tanzania), Maj Gen (Rtd) George Owinow (Uganda), and Leonard Boiyo (Turkey).
It is not yet clear what Dena will be doing next but word on the street has informed this desk that she is moving into business that could range from consultancy, beauty and perhaps transport.
