Wednesday, February 10, 2021 – President Uhuru Kenyatta stopped plans by Uganda’s opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi to get an asylum in the country as he fights to challenge Yoweri Mseveni’s win.
Museveni who is now serving his 6th term in power was declared the winner of the just concluded presidential race despite claims of massive voter malpractices.
Impeccable sources now claim Bobi Wine wanted to challenge his 14 January Presidential loss from Kenya but Uhuru Kenyatta’s authorities refused.
Uhuru and Museveni are known to be bosom political allies and this might have informed one of the reasons he barred Wine from carrying out his activities in the country.
The NUP Party leader, according to sources, opted to do his political activities in Kenya because he would have an access to many internationals lawyers who includes Canadian Robert Amterdarm as well as reputable NGOs that backs his efforts to bring change in Uganda.
Nairobi would also have helped him get an easy access to organizations like Resistance Bureau, Vanguard Africa which Museveni and his administration have been blaming for fueling chaos in Uganda.
Mr. Kyagulanyi has however went ahead to file the challenging petition without access to Kenya after he took his young family out of the country.
And after his recent release from home detention that lasted atleast two weeks, he announced to his supporters that the journey to freedom had just started and until he achieves that which he started, they should not sit down.
