Wednesday, May 4, 2022 –Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Peter Munya, has for the first time addressed the issue of State house cabinet meetings which are supposed to be held every week
Addressing media today Wednesday May 4 in a public Agricultural function meant to stabilize coffee prices in the country, the CS accused Deputy President William Ruto of being the reason behind the decision to halt cabinet meeting.
He told the media that the DP had moles within the Cabinet who could leak him sensitive information and which he utilized to attack the government every day in public rallies.
The former Meru governor who was responding to a journalist who had sought to know why Uhuru is nolonger meeting his Cabinet at a common place, said those meetings had a lot of loopholes and leakages by which Ruto was the key beneficiary.
“Cabinet meetings for what, the most important thing is for work to be done. The president chose to supervise his government from wherever place he is. And we are working well,” Munya reacted.
The vocal CS then told the media that, contrary to what Ruto has been peddling out there, the best and most work had been accomplished during the Handshake period.
He also pointed out that there have been reduced corruption cases than it were before when Ruto was still actively involved in government business.
“The first term was characterized by runaway corruption in most government sectors including the Kenya Pipeline, Kenya Power and the National Hospital Fund NHIF,” he added.
Therefore, Munya used the opportunity to urge the whole nation to support Azimio’s presidential flag bearer, Raila Odinga, for the top seat so that he can stabilize the country’s economy from August.
