Rig me out at your own risk – Ruto warns the System

Sidelined Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to take on the so called the ‘Deep State’ in his quest for the top seat.

Ruto who was peaking to Kajiado County leaders who had paid him a visit at his Karen home in Nairobi on Tuesday August 11 said despite the threats to stop his ambitions for the presidency, nothing will make him bow out of the race.

He asked anyone calling himself the Deep State to prepare for him because nothing is going to be simple for anymore.

“Tunatishiwa ati kuna system, ati Deep State, ati hata tukipiga kura watatuibia, kuna watu wameketi mahali fulani wanangojea, watakuja na deep state, tutakuja na wananchi na mungu,” Ruto said.

Recounting how him alongside his then partner Uhuru Kenyatta were intimidated and threatened upto the International Criminal Court ICC in the Hague, Ruto said they still matched forward and won the race and took power.

And the same way they managed to beat all the odds to become who they are today, he will do the same and win the presidency.

Talking about the ‘Deep State’ or the System, Ruto was referring to the unseen political brokers inside the State and who call shots to determine who becomes what and how.

“In 2013, I was being threatened, if I was afraid, or if President Uhuru Kenyatta was afraid, we would have had the Jubilee government, it is the same thing we are being told now,” added Ruto.
