Tuesday, August 30, 2022 –Roots Party has replaced Deputy Party leader Justina Wamae with Yagnik Vinod Ramji. Official report has indicated.
Through a comprehensive notice of Tuesday August 30 in which it had outlined a raft of changes, the Prof George Wajackoyah-led political party also indicated many other structural changes.
“Following a resolution by Roots Party National Executive Committee, (NEC) in a meeting held at the party head office we confirm the appointment of new party officials,” the notice read in part.
Roots Party also named Janet Akinyi Odhiambo as the new deputy national chairperson while Naran Velji Arjan took the position of Chief Executive Officer CEO.
Homenews.co.ke has learnt that Wajackoya’s running mate Wamae was conspicuously missing during the meeting and it was hard to establish whether she had been invited or not.
Just a couple of days ago, she was summoned to appear before party’s disciplinary committee but refused to attend saying she cannot be swayed by petty political issues.
Legal Director Roots Party Mr. Washika Wachira divulged that among other issues, Wamae was supposed to shed more light on why she was busy linking Party boss Wajackoyah to Azimio la Umoja politics.
He also charged that it was quite wrong for her to go round media stations spreading malicious facts against their party which she was still part of; contrary to what the party’s Constitution stipulates.
