Some of us who were born in this country were made to believe that Kikuyus are the backbone of this beautiful nation.
We tempted to believe that Kikuyu, Kenya and the name Kenyatta were one and the same thing.
Sadly, as time moves on, we are regretting to have bought the historical narrative. It was a pure lie flaunted right into our helpless and naive eyes.
President William Ruto has exposed the underbelly of this community called Kikuyu. He has managed to twist it backwards, right, left and center and now everyone of us can understand that this community is not what we thought it was.
Interestingly, the community still has not learnt. Gachagua misled this community in 2022. He described Ruto as an honest leader who will and can never break any covenant. Gachagua told us how he knows Ruto inside out and that there was no need to write any agreement with him.
He attacked Uhuru left, right and center and told the community how Uhuru and Mama Ngina had let down Ruto despite a political promise of ‘kumi/kumi’. They(Kikuyu) forgot that lovers vow on the pulpit to remain together ’till death do they part’, but still part ways before their first born! Life goes on anyway!
Today, the same Gachagua now wants to convince us that he(Gachagua) is still right and a truthful man. A liar! The community is also still blindly following the villager. Sympathising with him.
A week ago, politician Jeremiah Kioni took it upon himself to tell the community that it is okay to sympathise with the ‘fallen DP’ but it costs nothing to also remind him that he is an ‘idiot’ who trusted Ruto’s every word and drove the whole community into voting Kenya Kwanza into power.
He challenged the ex-deputy president to come out and explain how and why he misled Mt. Kenya. Until then, he can be allowed to speak anything to anyone and be heard.
Kioni is right. This community has to have time with itself, retreat and think again about Gachagua. Gachagua is not as right as Uhuru Kenyatta. But if things remain constant, Kikuyus will still remain a laughing stock after the next election.
Imagine, Ruto, Raila, Uhuru, Mudavadi and Kalonzo regrouping again. Kalonzo will join them because he cherishes Raila. He also cherishes Uhuru. He will join them anyway and Kikuyus will be left alone. Ruto will then have his cool 10 years in office, uninterrupted.
Bitter truth.
