Ruto Apologizes to Turkey Government Over Aydin Saga

Monday, August 9, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto has apologized to the Turkey government for the deportation of their citizen Harun Aydin.

Confirming that Mr. Harun had actually been flown back to Turkey on Monday August 9 morning, Dr. Ruto termed the idea as un-founded and unfortunate at the time the country wanted investors for its economy.

Taking to his Twitter page on Monday August 9, 2021, an angry Ruto indicated that he had spoken to Harun who confirmed to him that he had actually been ordered to travel back home and had landed safely.

“Just talked & apologised on behalf of GoK to Aydin Harun, now in Turkey, who was politically arrested, tortured & falsely profiled as a ‘terrorist’ but later asked to fly out not to ashame those involved. Political pettiness is expensive/dangerous & will destroy our economy.SHAME,” angry Ruto tweeted.

Harun’s case first emerged when Ruto was planning to fly to Uganda but the journey was thwarted by the State. In his team was Aydin whom he claimed was an investor he was supporting with a whopping sh 15 billion acquired from Equity Bank for an investment plan in Uganda.
