Friday, February 10, 2023 –Nairobi Lawyer Nelson Havi has landed a job in William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government.
The ex-Law Society of Kenya LSK President was made the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Retirement Benefits Authority RBA in a Notice from the Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Njuguna Ndung’u.
In the letter dated Friday February 10, the lawyer who unsuccessfully ran for Westlands parliamentary seat, was allowed to take office with immediate effect.
He has come in to succeed Mr. Abdirahin Abdi who has been relieved of his duties at the lucrative board.
Outspoken Nelson Havi is among those candidates who had applied for a role as Solicitor General but he didn’t get it.
He will now be at the helm of the retirement benefits board for a period of three years starting today when the appointment letter was issued.
In another similar appointment, William Ruto’s ally from Kisumu, Jack Ranguma(former Kisumu Governor), was offered the chairperson of the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority. He will also be running the position for three years.
This appointment was confirmed by the Cooperative Cabinet Secretary CS Simon Chelugui.
Homenews.co,ke has also learnt that others who have been given positions are former Nambale Member of Parliament Swakwa Bunyasi who will be in the Kenya Vision 2013 Delivery Board.
Also Dr. Samier Muravvej replacing Beryl Okumu will be chairperson of the Board of Directors of Kenyatta National Hospital for a period of three years; as former Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu takes charge at the National Housing Corporation board.
Ruto also appointed several other names to take up positions in various State departments and boards for a period of three years.
