Wednesday, June 29, 2022 –Deputy President William Ruto was late to arrive in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC stakeholders meeting in Nairobi on Wednesday June 29.

Interestingly, as he was alighting from his car to enter the boardroom where the meeting was taking place, Azimio la Umoja team led by Raila Odinga and Martha Karua were, unwittingly, leaving the meeting.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga with running Martha Karua during their Tuesday June 28 interview held at Karen.

Martha Karua would, for instance, grab the microphone through a point on interjection and asked the chairman to allow them to leave the meeting to attend to other matters which she did not detail.

“Hello, we are sorry we have to leave but as we leave we are certain that we have a robust team behind to handle the rest. Sorry the duty calls,” she stated as she dashed out of the room.

As they were leaving, they met the Hustler Nation leader William Ruto at the entrance as he was making his way inside.

During the meeting, the DP was all along being represented by UDA Party Secretary General Veronica Maina and Governor Joseph Nanok.

The four presidential candidates, Raila Odinga of Azimio la Umoja, William Ruto of UDA Party, George Wajackoyah of Roots Party and Agano Party’s David Mwaure Waihiga had all been invited in a joint meeting to discuss the August 9 elections preparedness.

IEBC used the opportunity to detail how they are prepared to deliver a free and fair election on August 9.
