Ruto Asks US to Intervene in Kenya’s General Elections

Wednesday, March 2, 2022 –Deputy President William Ruto has told the international community that there could be plans to rig him out in the August 9 polls.

Addressing multitudes at Karson Institute in London Layola University on Wednesday March 2, the second in command seemed to be complaining about the safety of the ballot in the upcoming general elections.

He expressed open fears that there could be no free and fair election exercise since the government is leaning towards his opponents from the opposition.

He went on to discuss that the Kenyan political atmosphere was not only volatile but also unreliable.

“The biggest issue is on the ballot. Is the democracy of our nation whether we truly have the opportunity to make free choices devoid of blackmail, threats, and intimidation. That’s the matter that is on the ballot,” Ruto insisted.

The DP went on to introduce the trending Swahili slang Hatupangwingwi to the attendants saying there is currently a heavy outcry from Kenyan youth who have lost faith in the regime.

“If you understand a little bit of Kiswahili, that’s what informs the current push by many Kenyans to say ‘hatupangwigwi’ (we cannot be forced to take a particular stand). Meaning we want to make our choices without being choreographed, chaperoned, blackmailed, or intimidated.” Ruto noted.

DP Ruto through his Kenya Kwanza coalition with Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula is expected to face off with opposition honcho Raila Odinga’s camp that may comprise quite a number of heavyweights including President Uhuru Kenyatta and Kalonzo Musyoka.
