Tuesday, July 13, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto wants Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga to be bold enough and name people who were involved in looting billions from Kenya Medical Research Authority KEMSA.
Ruto who was appearing on radio Jambo with Gidi Gidi on Tuesday July 13 morning challenged the former Premier to revealed the Covid billionaires who were implicated in the sh 7.8 billion heist which happened at the height of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
The DP was responding to remarks Mr. Odinga recently made before leaving to Dubai that if he ascended into office, he will have to arrest anyone who was involved in past corruption activities starting with the Deputy President.
Bu Ruto wondered why Mr. Odinga has never faulted those who were named in the KEMSA heist to prove that he is honest with his claims of fighting corruption.
“A thief defending another thief who has been implicated in the KEMSA scandal says he will arrest all the corrupt people in this country.
“Let him (Raila) give us names of all those behind the COVID-19 millionaires and stop defending them,” Ruto dared.
The DP then mentioned how the fight against corruption had been turned in to a political warfare where anyone who is seen with him at Karen is immediately put on the radar.
”Today, people know clearly that if you are a friend of the deputy president or even if you even visit him, then expect the DCI at your doorsteps. So it is not that you have stolen anything but because they have been sighted at my home,” Ruto said.
He however said this is part of the political game which he is ready to endure until he achieves his political goal of leading this country after Kenyatta winds u his term.
He added that so many politicians believe in him including sitting governors who are waiting for the safe time to join him.
