Ruto Commits to train 200 Airforce Pilots Every Year

Sunday, June 9, 2024 –Government has committed to train, atleast, 200 pilots in the Kenya Airforce beginning next year 2025.

Commander-in-chief of the armed forces President William Ruto who was addressing the KDF during the Kenya Air Force 60th anniversary held at Moi Air Base Eastleigh, Nairobi, noted that this move by his administration is meant to enhance both forces and civilian capabilities both in Kenya and to the neighbouring.

“Members of Kenya Airforce, I salute you. And as I discussed with the military command in Kenya. Kenya Airforce have promised me that they have the capabilities and I commit that my administration will support them to train a minimum of 200 pilots every year beginning next year,” announced President William Ruto.

Later on, President Ruto had to spent some hours with former senior members of the Airforce led by the current Chief of Defense, Lieutenant General Charles Muriu Kahariri

Ruto described the experience as an honour as retired Generals freely interacted with him sharing their past inspirations and experience in the forces.

“It was an honour interacting with retired Kenya Defence Forces Generals during the Kenya Air Force 60th anniversary. Their stories and experiences are an inspiration to our serving Generals and remind us of the importance of executing our civil duties with dedication and discipline,” Ruto commented.

He advised the Airforce department to remain alert and committed to safe-guiding the Kenyan air space so that peace and harmony can be part of this country.

“We are grateful to the extraordinary commitment to duty of our Kenya Air Force. Through their courage, dedication and professionalism, we have safeguarded our skies, defended our sovereignty and maintained peace and security in the region. At the Moi Air Base, Eastleigh, Nairobi, for the Kenya Air Force 60th Anniversary Celebrations,”

Ruto was accompanied by Defence Cabinet Secretary CS Aden Duale, scores of senior State officials and his son George Ruto who participated in the guard of honour.
