Friday, July 2, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto has come out guns blazing to defend Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua over claims of corruption.
Defending Gachagua who is currently linked to fraudulent deals that amounts to sh 12 billion, Ruto and his crew have come out openly to criticise State agencies for politicizing the war against corruption.
Speaking in a meeting he was hosting some of his top lieutenants at his Karen home last Thursday July 1, Dr. Ruto stated that targeting his allies in the name of fighting graft was missing the point.
He argued that the fight against graft in the country can only be successful if ethnicity and political rivalry is not included in the whole process.
“We will only succeed in the fight against corruption when we avoid the weaponization and criminalization of politics and using the criminal justice system to blackmail and intimidate people,” Ruto claimed.
Ruto went on to caution Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration to stick to law and stop meddling in criminal justice affairs which belongs to a different jurisprudence.
“We want to tell them to leave the criminal justice system out of the politics of Kenya. Kenyans can decide which ideas are good and which ones are better,” Ruto added.
These sentiment were echoed by most of his lieutenants including Senator Susan Kihika from Nakuru County, Kimani Ichung’wah from Kikuyu among others.
On her part, Kandara MP Alice Wahome prepared their new recruit from Kiambu County Ms Gathoni Wamuchoma to remain strong amid tribulations facing their Hustler camp.
