Tuesday, January 23, 2024 -President William Ruto has dived directly into Mt. Kenya ongoing polical battle.
Addressing the infight between Kiharu Member of Parliament MP Ndindi Nyoro and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua today Tuesday January 23, Ruto urged MP Nyoro to slow down until he is fully mentored to stand on his own.
The United Democratic Alliance UDA principal said it is not yet the best time for younger tucks to fight for kingpin positions in their areas.
“Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and I said that we would mentor these young men. They should go slow while we are mentoring them because if they go too fast they will spoil things. Relax, do not be in a hurry,” Dr. Ruto stated.
President Ruto’s stance coming just days after Public Service Cabinet Secretary CS Moses Kuria yesterday, asked Mt. Kenya leaders to consider him as the best man to manage the region’s politics.
Additionally, Interior Cabinet Secretary, on his part, said he should not be dragged into the mucky succession debate of who should be the next king of Mt. Kenya Region.
Nyoro, of late, is touted as the key person who may back Ruto in 2027 even as the likes of Maina Njenga remain among the top five bigwigs to run Mt. Kenya political space.
Not once has the ex-Mungiki founder announced his bid to take over the vote rich Mt. Kenya Region.
