Monday, October 2, 2023 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua together with President William Ruto have thrown Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza under the bus over the ongoing local politics.

He alluded that the ongoing wrangles in the county only requires local solution and that him alongside his boss William Ruto will no longer be meddling.

“I have spoken to the deputy governor and I want to tell him that he should remain strong. Don’t freight because if some of us would be weaker like you, we wouldn’t be here today.

“You remember we used to be arrested on on every Friday but we didn’t give up. Today, here we are strong like an iron,” the DP stated.

He also added that, after a thorough daylong consultations with locals around Meru, he established that the only viable solution for the people living there was to allow locals to decide what they want.

He assured that, together with his boss William Ruto, they will no longer come in to help solve Meru challenges.

Members of County Assembly MCAs Meru County have since vowed to push out the governor citing various office abuse claims.

They are also accusing Kawira Mwangaza of running the county like a family business; what they want to bring to a stop.
