Friday, October 6, 2023 –President William Ruto has asked Interior Ministry to move with speed and flash out all the criminals causing clashes in Sondu area, in Nyanza Region.

He likened the activities in Sondu to terrorism from Alshabaab militia saying his administration will now allow ethnic clashes around the country since that is something of the past.

“Those bringing war among neighbours must stop. I have asked Prof. Kindiki to emulate what we did with criminals in North Rift and and hwo we dealt with Alshabaabs.

“We don’t want stupidity of tribalism. This government belongs to everyone so nobody will suffer under my watch,” the head of State assured residents who had sought his stand on the area’s deteriorating security levels.

Ruto, therefore, asked Kindiki to start arresting anyone mentioned in the attacks so that they can be charged in court and punished as per the laws of Kenya.

Present were Cabinet Secretaries Salim Mvurya, Eliud Owalo, Rebecca Miano, Governor Anyang Nyong’o (Kisumu), Senator Tom Ojienda(Kisumu), Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’ah who represented MPs and scores of local MCAs.

Ruto used the tour to visit Agricultural sites and development projects saying the country is endowed with abundant untapped maritime resources that his administration must make use of in a sustainable manner.
