Thursday, August 31, 2023 –President William Ruto has reiterated his resolve to deal with the corrupt decisively warning that he will not be turning back again.
Speaking in Kakamega on Wednesday August 30, the head of State authoritatively mentioned that he means what he said by asking corrupt persons to either leave the country, be jailed or have an option of walking to the Heaven.
“It is not an empty threat. It’s not. Because this is what I am going to do. We cannot just sit quiet as people steal from the poor people of Kenya,” he repeated.
President Ruto promised to nip corruption in the bud as it had messed up the country’s economy for many years.
He added that those faulting him over the ‘Heaven’ remarks should not waste their time trying to seek answers from him since it’s a decision he has since made to boldly take to save the country from imminent collapse.
The President took issue with a section of the opposition and the Law Society of Kenya LSK for accusing him of threatening West Kenya Sugar billionaire Jaswant Singh Rai.
“I don’t understand these people. I can see Azimio and LSK have filled pages of newspapers with my story saying I am threatening someone.
“Let me repeat this again so that they can get it well. Let me repeat it here. All thieves who are stealing from you. Have collapsed Mumias Sugar, Nzoia and Panpaper, must start packing their belongings because I will jail them unless they plan to walk to Heaven,” Ruto repeated.
The commander-in-chief, therefore, warned Azimio leaders to stop defending the corrupt and looters of public property.
Dr. Ruto was addressing this during the breaking ground for the Kakamega County Aggregation and Industrial Park in Likuyani Sub County on Wednesday August 30.
Present in the event were Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha, area Governor Fernandes Barasa, Busia’s Paul Otuoma and Vihiga County boss Wilber Otichillo.
