Wednesday, January 12, 2022 –United Democratic Alliance UDA Party is putting in place control measures to avoid falling into wrong hands of the law over rampant hate speech.
Deputy President William Ruto is said to be constituting a disciplinary committee within his UDA Party that will focus of checking anything leaders want to say in rallies so that to avoid the same situation that befell Senator Mithika Linturi in their highly charged Eldoret Sports Club function of Saturday January 8.
Speaking on the same, Kimilili legislator Didmus Baraza noted that their party will no be clearing hate mongers to participate in their primaries.
In the Nation newspaper report of Wednesday Januray 12, Ruto is also claimed to have warned his allies to stop open campaigns on aspirants as this could be construed to mean he has preferred candidates ready to hand 2022 tickets.
He has nonetheless allowed areas where there is no competition between UDA aspirants to have campaigns.
DP’s move is informed by the fact that his ‘radicalized allies’ are now crossing the redline putting at risk his presidential bid.
