Ruto Makes his Stand Public on Iran-Israel war

Sunday, April 14, 2024 –President William Ruto has condemned the Iran’s attack on Israel.

Taking to his official social media platform with a direct statement on the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, Dr. Ruto noted that this was a disturbing development as well as delicate in nature.

He added that his government is not happy with the attack which is a real and that it represents an international threat to peace.

“Kenya is deeply concerned by Iran’s attack on the State of Israel. This disturbing development only serves to aggravate an already delicate situation in the Middle East.

“The attack represents a real and present threat to international peace and security, contravenes the Charter of the United Nations and should be condemned by all peace-loving countries,” added President William Ruto.

He, therefore, urged Israel to restrain its soldiers from the aggression so that peace can be realised in the shortest time possible.

“In responding to this act of aggression, Kenya urges Israel to show utmost restraint taking into account the urgent need for all parties to walk away from the brink beyond which recovery will be enormously difficult,” Ruto said further.

The statement from the Kenyan head of State coming at a time the country is divided on the ongoing war between the two nations.

Kenyans on Twitter, for instance, spent the better part of Sunday taking sides; with some siding with Iran.
