This meeting, unexpectedly, took place in the absence of Gachagua who believes that he is the kingpin of the Central Region following the retiring of Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

A source told some local news outlets that the meeting was convened by the head of State to deliberate on development in Mt. Kenya.

“MPs, State House Nairobi, and discussed the government’s road, stadia, fresh produce markets and water programmes in the county,’’ Ruto shared after the meeting.

It is during the meeting that Ruto made an announcement on the state of Othaya Hospital which he promised to elevate to a parastatal level.

“Othaya’s Mwai Kibaki Hospital, an annexe of Kenyatta National Hospital, will be gazetted as a parastatal with a board and an independent budget. This elevation will ensure the health facility is fully equipped to enable it play its rightful role in the provision of Universal Health Coverage that begins next month”.

On the same political agony facing the DP in Mt. Kenya, over 2,000 Njuri Ncheke elders today publicly announced their support for Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki.

They announced and declared Kindiki their preferred Kingpin and point man to link Kikuyus with the President William Ruto.
