Wednesday, December 7, 2022 –Azimio la Umoja-allied leaders now warn President William Ruto against pumping free money into the economy in the name of Hustlers Fund.
Speaking on Citizen Tv News Night show with Waihiga Mwaura on Tuesday December 6, Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang stated that Kenya Kwanza’s populist way of doing things will grind this nation to a sudden halt.
The Azimio-allied lawmaker took issue with how President William Ruto was running the country as if he did not know what to do with his victory.
“This government is behaving the same way Donald Trump behaved when he first won the presidency. The government owners are behaving like they didn’t know what to do with their win,” Kajwang hit hard at the government.
He went blunt by accusing the president together with businessman Cyrus Jirongo for running down the economy of this country in 90s through free Youth for Kanu Y4K money; and what seems to be coming back again.
“Ruto and Jirongo plunged this country into a state of inflation by pumping an unaccounted cash into the market in the name of doing KANU politics,” Kajwang revealed as his host tried to interject.
“Senator no…no. you can’t substantiate those claims here,” Waihiga Mwaura tried to stop him in vain.
According to Mr. Kajwang, injecting free and easy money into any economy erodes the currency and leads to an inflation that can take long to be corrected.
Asked how Raila was going to give his free sh 6,000 stipend to every family, Lawyer Kajwang defended the promise saying that was not going to be free cash. It was going to be part of the security fund and specifically for the vulnerable cases; not everyone.
And speaking on their public rallies which started today Wednesday December 7 at Kamukunji Grounds, the senator said it is very wrong for the government to behave as if it was doing Azimio a favour to allow the rally to go on.
He described their meeting as part of the rights enshrined in the Constitution and which no one can attempt to interfere with.
