Tuesday, September 7, 2021 -In a cold war style against the media, Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have started shunning media invites citing bias.
On Monday September 6, for instance, Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wah had to cancel his scheduled KTN Interview where he was to face off with political commentator Peter Kangwana as well as Ndaragwa legislator Jeremiah Kioni.
Confirming his absence, Dennis Itumbi reported through his Twitter account that MP Ichung’wah would not show up on the show despite all the publicity that had been done by the media.
“We told you in very clear terms, we told you in very clear terms that you owe Hustler Nation an apology, till then we are keeping off your shows,” Itumbi tweeted.
Further, another Tangatanga ally Gathoni wa Muchomba from Kiambu County who was scheduled to make an appearance on Tv 47 was also a no show. She recently decamped from Uhuru’s Kieleweke camp for Ruto’s Hustler wing where she wants o vie on UDA ticket in the next general elections.
In an early statement, she made it clear that she was not interested in siting for a debate with an appointed cabinet Administrative Secretary Zack Kinuthia.
“Dear my fans, I will not attend the TV 47 show tonight as planned. I will not engage in a political debate with an appointed CAS – Zack Kinuthia. He should first resign from public service,” the MP said.
This last minute cancellation was coming barely five hours after Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju had released a long statement on DP William Ruto’s bad past.
