Friday, October 28, 2022 –All schools in the country will have free internet connectivity to spur early creativity and innovation.
President William Ruto has promised that his government will be embarking on making sure that each school has an access to free internet.
Ruto who was addressing on Thursday October 27 during a meeting with Google Inc., revealed that the partnership with the multinational technology company will help create a digital learning environment for learners in the country.
“To empower young Kenyans with competitive skills at the earliest possibility, there is a real opportunity for partnership in implementing Google’s Computer Science Unplugged curriculum to prepare the next generation of the globally relevant digital workforce,” the president disclosed.
He added that, together with the Google, his government will ensure there is quick industrial revolution locally.
“We have our eyes firmly fixed on winning and maintaining global leadership in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
“It is our plan to ensure that Kenya can plug into and service international supply chains from a strong competitive position,” Ruto also stated.
The head of State asserted that as a country, there must be a way to support digital content which has proven that there is also massive income for the young people who may be struggling to earn a living after school.
