“I am ready to pay any price to have a plan on how to create opportunities for the young people of Kenya,” President Ruto said.

The head of State speaking in a church service at the Faith Evangelistic Ministries FEM in Karen Nairobi, stated that his Housing plan will be among the main projects that will see unemployed youth benefit first.

“Many people were wondering ‘Why are you pushing this housing agenda? Who told you we need a house? We all have houses what is this?’ It wasn’t so much about the houses it was so much about the jobs for the young people of Kenya,” Ruto added.

Ruto adduced to make sure his government exhaust all mechanisms possible to save lives of many youths currently being misused by a section of political players to destabilize the economy.

He also said youths are engaging in unnecessary crimes and drug abuse because they lack what to do every day from morning to evening.

“We have never had a comprehensive programme, deliberate, intentional to create opportunities for the young people of Kenya to have income.

“I am happy that this time round we not only have a plan [but] we have clear interventions, money to do it and create jobs in the housing plan in the digital space, exporting labour,” added Dr. Ruto.

The head of State also affirmed his unwavering commitment to foster the education sector by making sure every child, urban or rural, gains access to school life, affordably.

Ruto also stated that empowerment should be the main agenda of his administration that took power a year ago.

“This year we are going to use our taxes to make sure that our children go to school and have a meal, who otherwise would not attend class because they do not have something to eat.

“We have agreed with the (Nairobi) governor that we are going to feed 250,000 kids in the city of Nairobi, especially from the informal settlements,” he said.
