President William Ruto has announced that his government will not force anyone to vaccinate their livestock.
Addressing Narok residents on Tuesday December 31, Dr. Ruto said, the programme is aimed at reducing disease risk on livestock and to improve quality of milk, skin and meat to meet export standards.
“We have ready international market and it will be easier to tap into the market if we treat Foot and Mouth on our animals.
“It’s sad that my fellow leaders are spreading malicious information against the exercise which they know, from the back of their mind that, it is good but because of evil politics, they are inciting you not to embrace it,” he decried.
The head of State noted that the countrywide exercise will be free and that anyone willing to make use of the programme will be offered.
President Ruto said this country is a democratic nation and that there will be no forcing of anyone to vaccinate his or her animals because this exercise is completely free for willing farmers.
