Wednesday, January 19, 2022 –Latest opinion poll conducted by the Star newspaper has strengthened the notion of the two horse race in the next general election.

The Tuesday January 18 results from the opinion poll indicates that Deputy President William Ruto is still leading the rest with 46 percent as opposition leader Raila Odinga follows with 35 percent.

Political analysts have analyzed that Deputy President is dropping as Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga rises his numbers.

It is now clear that DP Ruto who has been enjoying massive numbers above 60% is dragging along what is giving Odinga an easy time to catch up with him in afew days to come. Raila needs only an 11 percent increase to catch up with the DP’s numbers.

In December 2021, another opinion poll conducted by Infotrak had indicated that most Kenyans prefer Raila than Ruto but Ruto was ahead in popularity. As Odinga garnered 33 percent love from Kenyans, Ruto followed with 32 percent love.

With elections now seven months away, Raila and DP William Ruto may have a rough time outdoing one another to get 50+ required threshold to clinch the presidency.

Musalia Mudavadi(ANC Party) and Wiper Democratic Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka are still trailing in the polls, in that manner.
