Sunday, November 5, 2023 –President William Ruto has confessed publicly that he, sometimes, makes promises which he cannot fulfill in time.

Ruto, while addressing at the Sunday service, Mama Ngina Waterfront, Mombasa County today November 5, said he did not know that some promises take time to fulfill despite making roadside proclamations during his many tours around the country.

“I have learnt today that promises can get fulfilled only if there is waiting and patience.

“We are suffering a lot because we want everything to happen immediately but, today, I am happy to learn from the church that promises need time to fulfill,” he remarked in his speech in the church.

Dr. Ruto noted how Kenyan politicians make many promises and, in the long run, start facing rebellion from the people who pile pressure on them to complete what they promised.

“We promise but fail to tell the people about the importance of waiting and that is why we suffer a lot after election,” Ruto added.

He hailed the bishop who presided over the service for enlightening him on the topic which he has been a victim of.

“I have gone to school and I have several degrees but I didn’t know this. Pastor Thank you for  helping me on this issue of promises.

“I always ask myself many questions why some of the promises I make take too long to complete; failing to understand that we have to wait until the appropriate moment,” the head of State remarked further.

President Ruto used the chance to also promise that fish landing sites in Mombasa will be completed by June 2024 as he works on the export of fish products from Kenya.

“We will also build more markets for the ‘mama mboga’ to work in decent environments,” he noted.

He was speaking this during Sunday service, organized at Mama Ngina Waterfront, Mombasa County.
