Thursday, November 23, 2023 –President William Ruto has reiterated his resolve to weed out pilferage of public resources by government officials serving in various departments.
Speaking this in Nairobi Kenya today Thursday November 23, President Ruto said, under his watch, he will make sure no public funds gets lost any other time and that, if found, one will be punished and if necessary, fired from office.
He asserted that the era of corruption must be firmly behind every State officer and this will be made easier through digitization of services in every state agency.
He pointed out the corrupt-ridden Kenya Medical Supply Authority KEMSA as an example of a state agency where digitization will first be rolled out in an effort to keep it clean.
Ruto also listed the National Hospital Insurance Fund NHIF as another department where Kenyans lose thieir money through corrupt senior managers.
“Because of wastage, we want to leverage on technology. We are willing as a government to support technology so that to help you manage your supply and procurement ecosystem,” he noted.
The commander-in-chief added that, it is through that that efficient service delivery will be realized in his government since this will eliminated corruption.
“We have to deal with fake claims and pilferages so that citizens can get value for every coin they contribute to the medical scheme,” Dr. Ruto further announced.
He urged Members of Parliament MPs to pass the digital health bill so that it becomes part of the legislation to help his government eliminate graft from the ailing health sector.
Ruto was speaking this during the African Securities Exchange Association Annual Conference held in Nairobi.
