Wednesday, January 26, 2022 –Keroche Breweries proprietor Tabitha Karanja has officially joined United Democratic Alliance UDA Party, today.
The business magnet who is seeking to replace Senator Susan Kihika was today unveiled after months of speculations since the time she hinted at joining active politics.
And though many thought she would be joining Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party because of their years of close links, Tabitha who today Wednesday attended UDA rally in Nakuru, alongside Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula, showed up in her yellow UDA-branded outfit flanked by Senator Kihika before DP Ruto officially received her into the Hustlers’ camp.
While receiving her, the DP lauded the business lady for having showed her ability in leadership by running a business that has since employed hundreds of people around the country.
The industrialist disclosed that her love for politics this year was informed by the fact that many of her constituents around Nakuru wanted her to take over the role.
“To the DP, I have listened to you and I have practised that for the last twenty five years and I am a practical example of bottom up. I ask you when you make the Cabinet, remember the problem businesses have gone through. You should know that we want a conducive environment for businesses. High taxation has brought down companies,” she stated.
Karanja promised to push interests of her people in the Senate so that development can go on in Nakuru County. She also indicated her willingness to reduce unemployment rate.
“I was born here. I come from Kenton Kijabi and attended Kiambogo Primary School and joined Bahati Girls High School. I am the one who set up the biggest company in Kiambu County,” she added.
In December last year, Karanja would be spotted hanging around with UDA-allied-politicians among them Susan Kihika before it would emerge that she was being courted to join UDA Party whose ideology is Bottom Up.
Ms Kihika, on the other hand, is campaigning to become Nakuru county Governor.
